xini.com is a number of things - my personal website (eventually there'll be some content) and a mail service for a select few.
Back in the heady days of the late nineties, the Internet gold-rush was in full swing, and domains were going fast. I was getting fed up of changing email address when I changed ISPs and the "free" email services were going popup-ad crazy. So I looked around for something that was short, snappy, and didn't really mean anything - I didn't know what I wanted to do with the domain (apart from email) so wanted something neutral.
As far as I can tell xini, which I pronounce "zi-ni"/"zee-knee", doesn't mean anything in any language but if anyone knows different let me know. There is a island called Mgarr Ix-Xini near Gozo which is apparently good for diving. Maybe I should go some time.
